Frequently Asked Questions

Is Cataclean safe for my car?
Yes. Cataclean has been extensively tested over the last 10 years by Industry Experts and is safe for use in both diesel and gasoline engines and flex fuel engines.

How is Cataclean different from other products on the market?
Cataclean is a superior cleansing agent and does not alter the fuel, whether gasoline, flex, or diesel in any way. It is specifically designed and formulated to "detoxify" the internal components of the engine and clean the oxygen sensors and the catalytic converter, thus reducing the carbon footprint of your vehicle and improving overall performance.

Will Cataclean really turn off my check engine light?
Check engine lights are often triggered due to carbon build up on the oxygen sensors and within the catalytic converter or mechanical failure of one or both of these components. Your mechanic will refer to this as a PO420 code. In the case of mechanical failure of the oxygen sensors or disintegration of the substrate within the catalytic converter, nothing, not even Cataclean will address this…you must replace the part. In the case of carbon build up and not mechanical failure, Cataclean has been proven to remove carbon build up which has resulted in turning the check engine light off. NOTE…DEPENDING ON THE MAKE AND MODEL OF THE VEHICLE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS MAY NEED TO BE RE-SET MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER THE USE OF CATACLEAN BEFORE LIGHT REMAINS OFF. THIS IS DUE TO THE ON BOARD DATA (OBD II) SWITCH AND MEMORY.

Why are there no testimonials from users of the Cataclean product?
Cataclean relies heavily on audited independent laboratories to substantiate our claims. Any product can produce a personal testimonial but only Cataclean stakes our name and reputation on factual evidence from recognized automotive experts.

How often do I use Cataclean?
It is recommended that one bottle of Cataclean (16.7 fluid ounces) is introduced into your fuel tank, once every three months. If your vehicle is subjected to a lot of stop and start or minimal highway miles, you may consider adding every 60 days.

What are some of the things that I should look for that would indicate that my vehicle is not operating at its best?
Your "check engine" or "service engine" light has come on. Your MPG (miles per gallon) has declined below the EPA recommended range (i.e. 17 city/21 highway). Your engine is sluggish. You may fail your "emissions test".

How do I maximize the results of Cataclean?
Follow these simple instructions:
1. Make certain that you have ¼ of a tank of fuel in your tank (3-4 gallons)
2. Allow vehicle to reach full temperature before introducing Cataclean.
3. Pour entire contents (16.7 oz) of Cataclean into the fuel tank.
4. Drive vehicle for 10 -15 miles Where can I buy Cataclean?
